I realize this blog post looks like Maya stole the show and that’s because she basically did. And by that I mean she was the only one of the three kids that would sit still for longer than 2.5 seconds, even though she appears to be moving in almost every single shot. Haha-that basically sums up this shoot. Up at 6:15 to catch that glorious morning light, a 4-year-old that has zero interest in standing and smiling when there is a playground within arms reach, twin one-year-olds that are exactly that, and I had to bring my two-year-old because the grandparents were still snoozing that early in the morning and the mommy of these three beautiful children also happens to be my best friend and so I get to do that. To have been a fly on the wall for this session…I’m sure it looked like a chaotic mess, but I’m pretty proud of what we popped off here, all things considered.

Katharine + Clay | Wedding
I was so excited when Katharine asked me to shoot her wedding down in Waco, Tx! Katharine and I have been friends since middle school. We used to hop back and forth between her house and another mutual friends. As many years ago as that was, I still remember admiring how close she was with her siblings. They all had such a deep connection to each other beyond your average sibling relationship. To get to play a role in her wedding and be a witness to the love for Katharine and Clay from not just her 5 siblings, but all of the guests at the wedding brought me to tears more than once on this gorgeous day.
The wedding took place on a beautiful piece of land that Katharine’s Aunt and Uncle live on. They were amazing hosts for such a big, important event. The ceremony took place outside overlooking Texas hills and a big, gorgeous tree that was home to cutest wooden swing. It was a dream location and Katharine had a beautiful vision from church pews to cowboy boots. I could not have been more honored.
Amber | Maternity
How stunning is this Momma-to-be? I’m lucky to call her a friend because she is even more beautiful inside. Take my word for it.
There was a carnival in town and since we had her little boy with us, we thought it was an appropriate place to stop for photos. I love the backdrops it provided. Be sure and check out the last set of photos. Probably my favorite of the whole session. Sweet Brady decided it was time for a hug break! True love at its finest.
Nicole and Phil | Engagements
Loved this session so much! I got to reconnect with an old friend from High School that I hadn’t seen since then. I forgot how awesome she was. Nicole and Phil are undoubtedly the sweetest, most genuinely thoughtful couple. Ever. They complement each other so well and truly seem to make the other better, even though neither one of them seem that they could possibly reach a better version of themselves. Yes, they’re just that awesome.
Oh, and it was a ridiculously hot summer afternoon in Texas on this very day. We had to start a little earlier than I normally start my shoots due to the Dallas Arboretums closing time, so playing outside in that mid-day heat guaranteed a lot of sweat and fanning ourselves, but like I mentioned…they’re so awesome you can’t even tell they were near dying of heat exhaustion!
