This session started off so fun! We found this awesome bridge that provided us with a backdrop that made everyone happy! It was a hike to get there, but it gave Melissa, Gary and I ample time to chit chat and get to know each other a bit. We had only just got started when we saw two men in police uniforms walking towards us. We all paused and I asked the responsible question of whether we should stop shooting and meet them half way, knowing that we could probably assume they were going to tell us we couldn’t shoot on the bridge. Then I realized what I just asked and told them to put on their best smiles so that we can get the most of this bridge before they get to us! We worked quickly, maximizing our time and then politely turned around and said, “Oh, hello there Officer. We didn’t hear you coming! How can we help you?” (Insert big, cheesy smile).
The policemen were very nice, more concerned with our safety than the fact that we were trespassing on ONG’s property but still let us grab a couple more shots before we had to leave. Melissa and Gary were the perfect couple to have such an embarrassing situation arise during a shoot. We had a great laugh about it as we walked back and it was then I discovered how great Melissa’s laugh was. I’ve always been jealous of people with really pretty, contagious laughs. And her smile fits the bill as well. She’s like the leading lady in the movie that the guy is watching her laugh from afar, falling even more in love with her than the first time her saw her in the 1st grade. That’s what her laugh reminds me of. It’s no wonder Gary snatched her up and asked her to marry him!
