Jenny and Hank | Oklahoma City Birth Photography

I think I’m more proud of these images than any others.  Partly because I was just thankful to get through the day without completely succumbing to my own emotional response to an already emotional event. Don’t let me fool you. I came home and saw that I had mascara ALLLLLL over my face. I had literally smeared it all up on my eyelids from shooting, as well as underneath. Note to self: Look in a mirror occasionally for the sheer purpose of maintaining a professional appearance.  In all seriousness though, I think I’m so proud of these because this truly brings to life the reason that I am absolutely, completely, and utterly in love with the art of photography.  To document love.  That is exactly what I did this day, and no credit to me…the love and support was radiating throughout the hospital for Jenny.  The labor and delivery nurses were all friends and coworkers of hers, some of them not even on the clock that day, but they refused to not be there for her.  And of course she had her and her husband’s wonderful families there with her as well.

This was such an intimate, vulnerable day for Jenny and her family.  To have allowed me to be there as a witness to this little boy’s first breath, to be a part of a mother bringing her son into the world after months of extreme precaution trying to keep him safely in her, it humbles me.  Photographing a birth is always just such a powerful experience for me.  I truly can’t describe what an honor it is to be asked to photograph this amazing time in this families life.

Side note: Hank was brought in to this world back in October ’12.  Apparently my slideshow software and blog host don’t agree and I have been trying to create the same slideshow on a different program but have not been happy with it (which is partly why I am so late in posting these), therefore I won’t be able to share the video. But play some sappy music while you scroll and you can have somewhat of the same effect. ;)Birth-8 Birth-11 Birth-12 Birth-4 Birth-6 Birth-3 Birth-9 Birth-10 Birth-17 Birth-23 Birth-20 Birth-21 Birth-15 Birth-18 Birth-25 Birth-26 Birth-24 Birth-77 Birth-28 Birth-30 Birth-31 Birth-32 Birth-33 Birth-34 Birth-35 Birth-36 Birth-37 Birth-40 Birth-38 Birth-39 Birth-41 Birth-42 Birth-43 Birth-46 Birth-47 Birth-48 Birth-49 Birth-50 Birth-51 Birth-52 Birth-53 Birth-54 Birth-57 Birth-59 Birth-60 Birth-62 Birth-64 Birth-66 Birth-67 Birth-69 Birth-70 Birth-80 Birth-81 Birth-83 Birth-87 Birth-78 Birth-73 Birth-74 Birth-89

Lauren + Jolian Wedding | Norman, Oklahoma Wedding Photographer

This was such a sweet wedding!  Besides all of the amazing DIY decor and favors, the groom was by far one of the sweetest.  Lauren and Jolian had a first look, which I love.  But what I loved even more was his amazing reaction to seeing her walk down the aisle a few moments later.  And then his sweet vows that had almost everyone in tears.  It’s no secret why Lauren is head over heels for him.

Tamara | Trash The Dress | Oklahoma City Bridal Photographer

So many things about this session make it awesome.  First of all, gorgeous bride. That’s always a plus. Second, an amazing dress.  I can’t not mention it.  Third, we waited until after her wedding so she was totally relaxed about her dress, not afraid to get a little dirty! Fourth, a horse.  And not only that, a horse that’s like a dog.  Minus a little spook at the beginning, this horse was so easy going.  At the end of the session, the owner of the horse walked him into the kitchen and let him have some water out of a cup.  My dogs don’t even get to drink out of cups. The weather was not on our side, yet again, for Tamara.  But, it managed to hold off until just the end before it started lightening and we were able to get some awesome images of not only Tamara, but her Groom that joined us too.

Ella | Oklahoma City Newborn Photographer

I have been so busy the last month that these precious photos of sweet little Ella have been put on the back burner.  I got some time to share these and I just love them.  I barely captured this first image of her.  I laid her down and she immediately started smiling.  So glad my camera settings were ready to go because we didn’t get another one.  Ella was just a perfect little doll for me.
